He is also one of the co-founders of Run Junkie, an indoor running studio that takes the simplicity and effectiveness of running outside and made it into a fun, invigorating and inspiring workout. This is partnered with a machine learning platform that is built from the ground up to provide the best possible studio experience to every single customer.
After a sold out three week pop-up in January at lululemon Marylebone, Run Junkie is due to launch a full studio before the end of the year. Run Junkie is the brainchild of Michael and long-time friend Rebecca, born out of a shared love of running and the desire to create the first running club where no one is left behind.
He’s responsible for finding new sites, ensuring they’re suitable for Ten’s needs and making best use of the available space. He works with designers and contractors to deliver the best possible design and fitout for the company’s brand, needs and budget.
He doesn’t teach Pilates. Ever. (A very good thing for all concerned.)
In 2009 Hilary moved to London full time to be
with her now business partner and husband Robert. A firm believer in having multiple passions, Hilary remained a model but knew there was something else on the horizon. Keeping fit was one of her passions and she found that London lacked boutique fitness concepts that were proven to be dominating the market overseas. It was from this moment Hilary found her next calling - this is where Boom Cycle was born. In 2011 raising funds through investment and personal capital, Hilary and Robert opened their first Boom Cycle studio in Shoreditch, deemed the first ever boutique spin studio in the UK. Since then the power couple have opened a further studios in Holborn, Hammersmith, Battersea and Monument.
Alongside being the face and co-founder of Boom Cycle Hilary still models and also instructs across all of Boom Cycle’s sites. She enjoys a life in balance lifestyle and is focussed on building her Booming empire, personal ambitions and keeping fit, healthy and up to date with the latest fitness trends London has to offer.
The first location was opened in Shoredtich in 2011 as the first indoor cycling focussed boutique fitness studio in the UK. Since the second location opened in Holborn in 2014 the company has grown almost 300%, been voted one of the UK’s coolest brands by CoolBrandsTM and Robert & Hilary both sit on the board of the UK Fitness trade body UK Active advising them on the needs of the UK’s boutique studios.
Boom Cycle have embarked on an ambitious expansion into two new locations, a prime spot in Hammersmith and a flagship site at the new Battersea Power Station development. With 2017 seeing 2 launches in Hammersmith and Battersea and 2018 opening up in Monument the expansion has cemented Boom Cycle as the largest operator in the UK.
Ministry Does Fitness is an unconventional studio which celebrates immersive high intensity circuit training, BUT, staying true to Ministry's brand, the workouts are a real hedonistic experience, with workouts tailored to specific playlists and performed under club lights, disco balls and using a huge state of the art sound system. Having been the driving force behind the concept of Ministry Does Fitness since day 1, Olivia is now overseeing the full business including the strategic direction of the brand. With Ministry Does Fitness progressing into its 2nd second year, Olivia is looking to take all learnings from 2017 to expand the business in a variety of different areas.
